We’ve all been in a situation where we come in contact or develop a relationship with someone who is super toxic. Whether it’s a friend, family member, or significant other—you need to know you’re worth so much more than that and it’s ok to cut people out of your life.

However, this can be way easier said than done—that’s why we’re here to give you a few simple tips and tricks that could get you away from a toxic person without causing unwanted drama or additional stress.

  1. Be Upfront

 

Personally, I think you should be up front with the person—this way it allows growth for both individuals involved in the relationship. You can leave it open-ended and just disclose you don’t like the way you’re being treated. This sometimes creates anger with the individual being confronted—but be strong and stand your ground girl!

 

  1. Slowly Detach

 

If you know confronting the individual will be more trouble than it’s worth—just try to slowly detach. Meaning don’t really text as much or offer to hang out—this gives a subtle hint and will eventually lead to a separation without conflict or a huge falling out.

 

  1. Stay Strong

 

Don’t let someone step all over you—toxic people are most times difficult to deal with and confront. Just remember you should do whatever makes you feel comfortable to end a toxic relationship—even If it means blocking a number or ghosting…put yourself first!
